THE INSTITUTE:  

U.V. Patel  College of  Engineering, a constituent institute of Ganpat University, was established in September - 1997 under the aegis of Mehsana District Education Foundation with a view to educating and training young talented students in the field of Engineering and Technology to meet the needs of industries and academics for the growth and development of the industries and academics. At present, the institute offers twelve undergraduate programmes, nine post graduate programmes, two integrated programmes and Ph.D. programmes in several branches of engineering.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING: 

Electrical Engineering Department has well qualified faculty members and well furnished classrooms. The Department has well equipped laboratories for Electrical Machines, Power System, High-voltage Engineering Power Electronics, Network Analysis, Control Systems, Microcontroller, and Elements of Electrical Engineering. The department also has computerized research laboratory facility with various software like PSCAD, PSIM, MATLAB etc. The department is also offering PG (Power System / Machine & Drives) and Ph.D.  programmes in Electrical Engineering.

SCOPE OF SEMINAR: 

Considering the power scenario in the country and recent question mark on the sustained availability of coals for power plants, it is the time when use of small scale distributed generation of sustainable green energy is promoted at every possible level. Further taking into account the large transmission losses and theft in our country, the idea of micro-grid is very promising. This seminar is intended to motivate people to think towards achieving the goal of sustainable and renewable energy system.
